About

My interest in photography began when, at the age of 9 or 10, my father allowed me to use his old, manual, half-frame 35mm camera. With no light meter, auto-exposure or auto-focus; I had to learn how to make pictures using just a light-tight box with a lens and a shutter. From the start, I was intrigued. It was part magic and part technology.

Since that time, I have been improving my skills by attending photo workshops led by well-known professional photographers and with lots of practice.

While I enjoy creating photographs of a wide variety of subjects, most of my photographs are from travel destinations and scenes from nature. About half of photos in my portfolio were shot using 35mm color slide film and the rest were made using a digital camera.

The pictures were only minimally altered using image-editing software. Basically, the image you see is the same as captured in the camera at the moment of exposure.
